I love weddings and all the design aspects behind creating the perfect day so when asked to create a wedding invitation design I jumped at the chance. I took the opportunity to go back to basics with some very simple pencil drawings as the basis which reminded me how much I love drawing!

Cheltenham International Illustration Awards 2012

Calling all illustrators! The sixth Cheltenham International Illustration Awards are open. The theme is the rather fabulous ‘Tales of Magical Objects’.

The selected winners work will be showcased at the exhibition along with other commended images, and published in the Annual which will be distributed free to institutions and industry publishers.

Student prize: Apple iMac computer, Runner up prize £500

Emerging talent prize : £1000. Runner up £500

Closing date: 1st June 2012

Tapirulan International Illustrator’s Contest has an interesting theme of ‘privacy’ - secret emotions and private thoughts, vices and virtue’s, which really appeals to me and is getting my creative thoughts flowing. Think I might give it a go. Deadline for entries 28th Sept 2011. Watch this space for progress report!
